I have a friend who lives in Mauritius and he builds cool things. We message every few days to help us keep on track with our businesses.
This morning he asked what my task was for building my business today. Not what work I'll do 'in' my business – the daily running of my business to meet my clients' needs. But the task I'm doing to grow my business.
He explained how he's building a water cooling system for his laser.
That's tough to beat.
I'm not building a cooling system.
I'll be honest with you, I don't even own a laser.
I'm just plodding along, doing the simple things (in this case, working on a new webinar to help more care homes get enquiries).

Marketing is simple
It's less about the flashy stuff – innovative strategies, creating epics, and er, building lasers.
It's about being consistent, not switching tack every few weeks to follow the latest marketing fad.
I recommend picking two channels (whether that's email, or community workshops, or Facebook or whatever) and just doing those two really well.
It's not sexy. It's not exciting. But if you can keep disciplined with your marketing and be consistent, you'll grow.
And maybe someday you'll be able to buy your own laser – just for fun.
If you're not sure what channels you should pick to grow your care business, I can help you create a simple marketing plan. So simple, in fact, it fits onto one page.
